Fresh handmade dumplings, a lot of variety yummy.
Wow. One of the better dumpling places I have been to in North America. Their lamb meat dumplings are great. Juicy, you can really taste the lamb and it is NOT gamey at all. The beef soup is like a super nice hot and sour soup with good amount of beef stew. The noodles are great also. This place gets busy during lunch but normally OK if you are there 10 minutes before noon. BTW, owner Mr. Weng is very friendly and humble. You can see his team hand making the dumpling at the front of the restaurant and you know they are fresh!
Delicious dumplings! Cooked and made to order, they are very fresh and the skin is so light and airy. Lamb and fennel is a favourite filling in our family. The price is low for the quality of the food. Service is simple but efficient. Tables are small and very close to one another. There can be a long wait time in the evening.
Ok food but didn't get my whole order
Dumplings were just ok but service was terrible. Price was pretty low; we got 15 dumplings per each order which cost about $9 each
could update and make the place looks nicer...but when the food is that good... who cares.
The stir fried beef was good, but the sweet and sour fish was too sweet and not sour at all. It's a cash only place but we were not informed of this before but luckily had cash.
Yummy dumplings! Fast service and dumplings made fresh on the spot! The hot and sour soup is great! Pan fried meat dumplings and crispy pork are also a favourite.
food is ok. but the staff is not well trained. They got our order and two other tables' wrong. Unbelievable.
The rating is purely based on the food only
Always had good food here, from dumplings to hot pot and vegetable dishes.
Very delicious and alright service.. they can’t really speak English other than the manager but who cares when the food is good!
I am almost afraid to review this place since it is such a gem and I dont want to reveal it to the world. 😁 But as a Foodie, I must share. This diamond in the rough is in Metro Square-ample parking, by the way. Cash only to note. I am in love with their pork and leek dumplings, green onion pancake and red bean bun with sugar. The green onion pancake $5 is fried to perfection and just melts in your mouth. Crispy outside and delish fillings inside. And let us talk about their dumplings. 15 dumplings for $8. I can finish 15 of them in matter of minutes. Mix soya sauce and red vinegar for dipping. It's like dumpling addiction. I am amazed every single time I eat here. And their red bean sugar buns. 8 of them. I could die after that-that's how delicious they are. I say this is 100 places to visit before you die. Dont expect a fancy place though. Rickedy old front door and compact space. Nonetheless, I will be coming back here over and over again. 😍💖
Good hot and sour soup! One of the best dumpling houses in Toronto. Can be very busy.
Many choices of food. Very good price and tasty. No MSG at all. Very good price for the portion of the dumpings. Place is a bit small and not too much sitting.
Dumplings taste good and fresh
Definitely a place to go for good comfort food. The dumplings are freshly made and each basket has 15 pieces!! Highlights included their pan friend dumplings and hot and sour soup!
Good dumplings, less salty than other places. The garlic pork tastes very good.
Large selection of dumplings, home made skin. The corn and peas in the fried rice weren't thawed totally. $6.50 for 15 steamed dumplings good deal. My wife thinks they have the best ma po tofu.
One of the gems in Metro square, great food with reasonable prices. Worth to go again and again.
Hidden gem. All dumplings are hand made dough pressed on the spot after order is placed. Can't get fresher than that! Owner is very friendly.
The food here is good. Love the pot stickers and steam dumplings here. The hot and sour soup here is really good as well. I the place is a little small and cramped but the food is still good great for quick lunch and cheap meal.
Cash only place. The servers are chatting and the service is poor. The dumplings we ordered is salty. And tea was not good.
This place absolutely cannot be beat. Open that mouth wide, juicy dumplings coming in hot! Make sure you bring cash, but you won't need much of it since the prices are great.
They have very good dumplings.
The dumplings are nice but pretty much all the choices are pork. The seating is limited, the small tables for one or two doesn't have enough room if you order more than a couple dishes. Service is just one Waiter plus the owner occasionally. Service is really great if you're a Caucasian customer, the owner comes right up to you, smiles and tries to chat and it's super prompt. He sure doesn't do that for any of his Asian customers!
The food was decent and it was nice that the dumplings were handmade. The prices of the food were fairly cheap and the portions are quite large. However, the downside is that they only accept cash and not card. Medicore customer service and the plates and bowls were a bit dirty,
The service was not amazing, some of the staff were pushy, but the food was ok I guess?
Those in the know and craving good dumplings seem to know this place well. It gets busy during weekends. The dumplings are indeed good - texture and taste just right. Comparable to Dumpling King at Midland and finch. The hot and sour soup was decent as was the snow pea shoots which is not something you usually find in menus. Seating is only for about 50 people but go during off peak or early and there always seem to be space. Pricing is decent for quality and quantity.
Wow ordered delivery, sold me some leftover dumplings, brilliant way to save money.
You get what you pay for, so I wasn't really expecting much visiting this restaurant. When we walked into the restaurant the owner did greet us with a smile and he seemed very sweet however after that none of the waitresses really acknowledged us or would respond to us when we would say thank you or ask them how their day was going. But the food was delicious! For only $30 we got 30 dumplings and a whole plate of friend pork noodles! That being said there was not much of a variety of meats except mainly pork dishes. The place was a bit run down but despite that it was packed! Definitely a local hidden gem that just needs a small makeover.
The pan fried potstickers were really good!
Good experience. Not the best quality but reasonable prices and good staff. I will try again.
Good place for dumplings ! Probably on of my favorites ! But I have to say it's kind of dirty. The bowls and plates are stacked along the window near the door. Good food, mediocre service, a bit unsanitary. 3 stars
Pretty nice place to eat at; the pork fennel dumplings are my favorite to get. You get a good amount of food for your money, so there are not any real complaints I can think of. I go there to eat dumplings and they dish them out freshly steamed.
Inexpensive and tasty handmade dumplings and noodles. Their sweet and sour pork is fantastic too.
The dumplings are pretty good. The skin is a bit thick thought. Price is decent. Will come back again for sure.
Food was great. But service was pretty cold and rude.
Been coming to this place for many years. Excellent value for what you pay, what you get.
The restaurant has good dumplings and pots.
This has been the go to dumpling place for myself and friends whenever we feel like enjoying freshly made, juicy, steamed dumplings that have the perfect fillings and an unique bite to the skin that you only get from the way they're steamed. Definitely beats all the dumpling places in Chinatown. It's like as high end as Ding Tai Fung, but it's like a small fraction of the price, very worth it. They also serve authentic northern Chinese dishes like beef slices with chinese pancakes, mushu pork (best I've had was here) etc. I've seen their chef stay here for 5+ years I've been coming here, I think that's the key to their success.
This area is filled with different types of Asian restaurants, but me and my family personally prefer this one the best. It has all the native Northern Chinese dishes so it feels just like home. I would definitely recommend this to others if they want some Chinese food.
A bit run down but still have great dumplings!
They somehow managed to make their food greasy, salty yet tasteless
The dumplings here are the best! The lamb is my favourite. It's always made fresh and the flavours are good. The spicy hot pot is popular here so decided to try it and I also enjoyed it. The meat wrap is also really good but it's a simple dish but made well. Definitely a good restaurant although service could be friendlier.
I will miss this when I leave in a few days.
Absolutely love this place. Authentic food and even better gyozas if you can believe it. Try the hot pot, totally worth it. Also the hot and sour soup is one of the best I've tried.
Some real Authentic northeastern dish. The portion is a bit small. Above average taste for some dishes.
Check this place out for authentic Chinese dumplings, soups and other good stuff.Been here a few times and the price is fair for the quality and quantity. Easy to drive to with plenty of free parking in the lot. Order from the paper menu by checking off what you want. Not a high style place but in China the restaurants that specialize in dumplings will have an open view of the dumplings being made and you get a bit of that here to add to your dining experience. Definitely get an order of dumplings because that is really what this place is all about.Payment is only by cash or debit card.Enjoy!
Yummy, unique food at an affordable price
